I am going to post my silly notes, drawrings, and marginalia to this site. I am a grad student in linguistics, hence the name (get it? get it?) and the tendency for the notes to be about…linguistics.

Let’s start with something I apparently learned one day recently in syntax: ternary branching is not good. This is a very important lesson in X-bar theory.

  1. John Lawler Says:

    No tern shall go unstoned!

  2. Moreno Says:

I guess one may adopt ternary branching solely in the case of co-ordination at an elementary level.

Which University do you go to (if you don’t mind me asking)?

Although your tree adds much scent and character to the site, you just may be interested in my favourite tree-drawing software, TreeForm.

    All the best!
